VTuber Camila made a series of scathing allegations against VShojo, claiming that the org turned down all finalists who auditioned and offered them “hush money.”
July has been a whirlwind month for VTubers, with the sudden downfall of VShojo after Ironmouse quit, claiming the organization hadn’t paid $500,000 to charity as part of her subathon.
This then led to numerous VTubers quitting VShojo, with many others revealing their own grievances with the company and its CEO, GunRun.
Eventually, just days later, VShojo shut down, with GunRun confirming that the $500K wasn’t paid, and admitting that he had “mismanaged the company.”
Amid the fallout, numerous other VTubers have continued to share stories about their time with the org, and according to Camila, that even included offering creators “hush money” to not expose them for a hiring snafu.
Camila alleges VShojo sent VTubers “hush money”
In a post on X, Camila revealed that, in 2022, she applied for VShojo because they were “looking specifically for smaller streamers.”
Camila claims she made it past the first two rounds of the audition process, but was ghosted after making it to round 3, which left her confused.
Nonetheless, she pushed on and started growing as a creator, eventually leading her to a conversation with a bigger VTuber who auditioned for VShojo at the same time she did.
“She made it to the final round, but they rejected her and the finalists last minute to hire someone they already knew,” Camila claimed. “And these VTubers were given hush money not to tell anyone about it.”
“The girls were devastated. Just like the rest of us who got dropped without warning. So uh, yeah. Thank you [for] wasting everyone’s time.”
She further added that VShojo talents had called her in tears many times over neglect, not being paid, and weren’t getting answers from the company for six months.
“No one as sweet and hardworking as them should’ve been treated like that and stolen from,” she blasted.
The VTuber star then linked to a cover of Billie Eilish’s song ‘Your Power’, a song that has lyrics about abusing one’s position. She dedicated the cover specifically to GunRun in a pretty clear callout.
She’s not the only one calling out VShojo now that the org has folded. On July 24, Veibae revealed that VShojo threatened her with a lawsuit if she talked about them following her exit from the agency.
