With a nearly three-hour runtime, Bruce Springsteen shows can go late into the night. That can be problematic for some fans, especially those who have to get up early for school the next day. Fortunately, one young fan had a pretty good excuse for missing class on Monday: a signed absentee letter from Springsteen himself.
The Boss first got wind of the request during Sunday’s show in San Francisco via hand-made sign that read “Skipping School Sign My Note?” He happily obliged by personally signing the absentee note and returning it to the fan.

The unnamed fan was treated to a pretty epic 29-song set that included the tour debut of “Atlantic City” (also coming via sign request), as well as performances of “Something in the Night,” “Because the Night,” “No Surrender,” “Racing in the Street,” and “Bobby Jean.”
Springsteen fans young and old have plenty of more chances to catch the E Street Band in action as they’ll be touring the US, the UK, and Europe throughout much of 2024. Tickets can be purchased here.
Meanwhile, Springsteen made a surprise appearance on the latest episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, where he received the full Larry David Experience.
