Britney Spears is pushing back against reports that she was involved in an altercation at a Los Angeles hotel last week that injured her foot.
In a detailed Instagram post shared on Monday, the former teen idol refuted claims of experiencing a “breakdown” at the Chateau Marmont the previous week.
“I honestly wish my life was as wild as it has been portrayed !!!” Spears captioned an Instagram post of herself horseback riding. “Either way, some s–t actually has happened to my foot and I might have to get surgery … fingers crossed, hopefully not.”
Indeed, Britney’s ankle appeared severely swollen in a video she shared on Instagram recently.
The “Toxic” singer added that she felt “harassed and gaslit and tricked to go on the street” last Thursday. She added that her “car was supposed to be there.”
She also responded to images featuring her and her boyfriend, Paul Richard Soliz, outside a ritzy hotel in West Hollywood. In the photographs, she seemed distressed as she concealed herself with a pillow.
“I was in my pajamas and yes, I had been crying because I hurt my foot !!!” Britney Spears explained. “No breakdown !!! I’m a grown a** woman who is actually very naive in most situations !!! I am simply embarrassed they got me in my d*** pajamas !!!”
However, it sounds like after the experience, she’s planning some self-care. “I don’t feel loved,” she wrote. “I feel mistreated !!! With that said, I’m going to treat myself this week !!!”
Several reports alleged that Spears and Soliz engaged in a dispute, resulting in an ambulance being called to the scene at the hotel. In a passionate social media post on Thursday, Spears refuted claims of a confrontation with her former handyman. She attributed her swollen foot to a fall.
Since her divorce from Sam Asghari in 2023 was officially finalized, Britney has found herself romantically linked to Soliz. On Monday, Nicole Mancilla, the ex-wife of the handyman, accused Soliz of being a “deadbeat dad.” She alleges that he provides no support for any of his 10 children, five of whom are shared with her.
Court documents from Los Angeles County Support Services state that starting May 1, Soliz must pay Mancilla $1,167 in monthly child support.
Meanwhile, Britney is the mother to Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden, 17. Last year, her sons relocated to Hawaii with their father, Kevin Federline.
