A man from Britain miraculously survived a plane crash in India that reportedly left no other survivors, with him only sustaining mild injuries.
On Thursday, June 12, an Air India plane en route to London, England, crashed just moments after takeoff. 242 people were on board the plane including crew members.
However, not everyone on the aircraft died, as one man managed to survive the crash with just minor injuries. He had enough strength to stand up and walk away from the wreckage.
According to Hindustan Times, 40-year-old Vishwash Kumar Ramesh was flying back to the UK from India after visiting family when the crash happened.
British man lone survivor of India plane crash
“Thirty seconds after take-off, there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed. It all happened so quickly,” Ramesh told HT.
He didn’t make it through without any injuries, however, as the man received “impact injuries” on his chest, eyes, and feet.
“When I got up, there were bodies all around me. I was scared. I stood up and ran. There were pieces of the plane all around me. Someone grabbed hold of me and put me in an ambulance and brought me to the hospital,” he added in a quote for the publication.
According to the survivor, he was traveling on the plane with his brother, Ajay, who was seated in a different row when they took off.
“We visited Diu. He was traveling with me and I can’t find him anymore. Please help me find him,” Ramesh added.
According to reports, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh is the only confirmed survivor of the deadly India plane crash.
