Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion will return to State Street in Historic Downtown Bristol, Tenn.-Va., on Friday, Sept. 19, through Sunday, Sept. 21. The 24th annual event presents a genre-fluid lineup of acts that lean into the realms of outlaw country, soul-tugging blues, psychedelic jam, bluegrass, and beyond. Leading the impending gathering are The Teskey Brothers, Shane Smith & The Saints, Lukas Nelson, and Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder.
The three-day occasion serves as an inviting tribute to the legacy of the 1927 Bristol Sessions recordings, from which the event takes its name, alluding to the locational significance and enduring impact on music history. Trailing the aforementioned leaders of the pack are fellow festival participants, The Band Perry, Joy Oladokun, Steep Canyon Rangers, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and Mountain Grass Unit.
Kaitlin Butts, Ashley Monroe, Fruition, Sister Sadie, Michael Cleveland, The Wilder Blue, Nolan Taylor, Shadowgrass, Ken Pomeroy, Theo Lawrence, The Wildmans, Jarekus Singleton, Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley, Larry Keel’s Electric Larry Land, Denitia and Chicken Wire Empire also make the list of nearly 100 separately billed performances, slated to spread out over a dozen stages when the event arrives in the Birthplace of Country Music.
