Brad Pitt is reportedly “aware and upset” that Shiloh, his and Angelina Jolie’s first biological daughter, has chosen to drop his surname.

“He’s aware and upset that Shiloh dropped his last name. He’s never felt more joy than when she was born. He always wanted a daughter,” an alleged insider told People on Monday.

“The reminders that he’s lost his children is of course not easy for Brad,” the source added. “He loves his children and misses them. It’s very sad.”

The insider mentioned that while the actor is “happy” with his girlfriend Ines de Ramon, being away from his six children “pains him.”

“He still loves all of his kids tremendously,” yet another source told the outlet. “This whole process has been very hard for the whole family.”

On May 27, Shiloh celebrated her 18th birthday by filing to legally remove “Pitt” from her name. Although the name change has not yet been approved, she reportedly plans to adopt “Shiloh Jolie” as her new moniker.

However, Shiloh isn’t the only one of Brad Pitt’s brood to drop his last name.

Zahara also removed “Pitt” from her last name. During an introduction ceremony after joining the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, she introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie.”

Last month, Pitt and Jolie’s daughter, Vivienne, was notably listed as “Vivienne Jolie” in “The Outsiders” Playbill. However, it remains unclear whether the 15-year-old has legally changed her name.

In 2021, it was reported that Maddox, 22, dropped Pitt from his last name on non-legal documents. Angelina reportedly did not support his decision to change his name legally.

However, Shiloh is poised to be the first of Angelina and Brad’s children to make an official change by filing court paperwork to legally alter her last name.

In addition to Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, and Vivienne, the former couple also has two sons: Pax, 20, and Knox, 15.

Brad and Angelina started dating in 2005 after Mr. & Mrs. Smith. They were together for 12 years and married for two before Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, seeking sole custody of their children. They were declared legally single in 2019, but their divorce proceedings continue.
