Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros have confirmed a new run of fall symphony tour dates. The impending appearances are slated to pick up on Nov. 13 at the Cincinnati Music Hall, with featured help from the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. The run continues with two nights at Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre, Nov. 17-18, and concludes after another two-fold, Nov. 22 and 23 at New Orleans’ Saeger Theatre.
Like their initial show, the group’s Windy City follow-up will also include added accompaniment by the Chicago Philharmonic, who will assist in sonic elaboratons ofon Grateful Dead classics, pulls from Weir’s solo archive and beloved covers. The same is in store for Weir & Wolf Bros New Orleans’ stand, where they will welcome help from the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra.
Weir’s symphony project has been years in the making. It first came to fruition in 2022 during a four-night sold-out run with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Since then, performances have also taken place with help from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Stanford Symphony Orchestra.
The Grateful Dead guitarist is currently participating in Sphere’s Dead Forever residency with Dead & Company in Las Vegas. According to his official website, the newly dropped slate of dates will represent Weir’s initial gigs outside of his summer schedule in Sin City.
