Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s daughter Blue Ivy participated in a luxury auction over the weekend, where the 10-year-old threw out high bids to support her grandmother Tina Knowles, who put on the event.
At Saturday’s 2022 Wearable Art Gala in Los Angeles, Blue Ivy bid over $80,000 on a pair of Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings her grandmother wore to the event. A video circulating social media features Keke Palmer, Tina Knowles, and Quinta Brunson reacting to Blue waving her auction paddle with confidence.
Eventually, Blue Ivy was outbid by Monique Rodriguez, the founder of Mielle Organics, who bid $105,000 on the earrings.
According to Vanity Fair, it isn’t the first time Blue Ivy held her own in a luxury auction. Back in 2018, the then-6-year-old battled Tyler Perry for an acrylic painting of a young Sidney Poitier. After initially bidding $17,000 for the artwork, Blue upped her bid to $19,000, before bowing out to Perry, who captured the piece for $20,000.
Later in the night, Blue came out a winner after bidding $10,000 on a a 36” x 36” art piece that was made out of deconstructed law and medical books. Check out footage of Blue Ivy bidding at the 2018 auction below.
