Beyond the Gates’ Brandon Claybon & Colby Muhammad Celebrate Brother-Sister Bond on Countdown to BTG’s Premiere

Beyond the Gates’ Brandon Claybon & Colby Muhammad Celebrate Soapy Brother Sister Bond as They Countdown to the Show’s Premiere

Beyond the Gates (BTG) fans are on the edge of their seats, as the official countdown to the show’s historic premiere is on!

Not only will the ground-breaking series be the first daytime drama to debut in over 25 years, but it will also be the first-ever, one-hour, Black-centric soap on television.

That’s a lot to get excited about whether you are a viewer, anxiously anticipating the show’s premiere, or a person working on the soap waiting for it to finally drop!

Interestingly enough, BTG stars, Brandon Claybon (Martin Richard) and Colby Muhammad recently hopped on Instagram to share their enthusiasm.

The two are slated to play brother and sister, as the offspring of Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson (Daphnée Duplaix) and Ted Richardson (Maurice Johnson).

Of course, the onscreen brother-sister duo re-did a hilarious lip-sync and dance of the popular song that has been trending on social media, “I’ve Always Wanted A Brother” from the hit movie, Mustafa: The Lion King.

In the IG video, Claybon tries to playfully keep Muhammad from the camera, who is aggressively (and hilariously) singing the song.

The words, “POV: Kat and Martin Richardson” and then “Catch us on Beyond the Gates Feb. 24th!!” subtly flash across the video during the entire song and “dance”.

Meanwhile, the caption reads, “Congressman, get your little sister!! Tag which brother, cousin, grandparent, or friend you’ll be watching #BeyondTheGates with! Catch the #RichardsonSiblings starting Feb 24th Monday-Friday at 2pm EST on #BeyondtheGates!!”

Just for some perspective, the Martin Richardson character is a congressman, who lives outside Fairmont Crest gates, with his husband, Bradley “Smitty” Smith (Mike Manning), and their two adopted children.

Kat is his spoiled and entitled sister, who may become a little less spoiled and entitled when the drama is thrown her way over the next few weeks ahead.

The IG video made its way to another social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter), and was reposted by BTG’s Executive Producer and President of CBS Studios/NAACP venture, Shiela Ducksworth.

She certainly shared in Claybon and Muhammad excitement, by writing in her X caption, “There go them Richardson kids!”

Meanwhile, Michele Val Jean, BTG’s creator, also reposted the video on X, with the following caption, “2 weeks, y’all! Let’s goooo!”

Fans will soon see if the Richardson kids get along as well as Claybon and Muhammad do off screen and get more acquainted with all the other BTG characters when the soap debuts on CBS, come Monday, February 24 at 2 p.m. ET.

Beyond the Gates spoilers indicate that the affluent Maryland suburb will highlight affairs, romance, intrigue, and plenty of drama, so those who love the land of soaps will definitely want to tune and be there from the beginning with this new show.
