Beyonce is struggling to sell tickets for her highly-anticipated Cowboy Carter tour. However, that did not stop her from selling out SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Monday night.

Or did she?

Beyonce will spend the majority of the next three months touring her new country music album, which is set to stop at nine locations in seven states and three countries. Dates are as follow:

  • April 28 – May 9: SoFi Stadium ~ Inglewood, California
  • May 15 – May 18: Soldier Field ~ Chicago, Illinois
  • May 22 – May 29: MetLife Stadium ~ East Rutherford, New Jersey
  • June 5 – June 16: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ~ London, England
  • June 19 – June 22: Stade de France ~ Paris, France
  • June 28 – June 29: NRG Stadium ~ Houston, Texas
  • July 4 – July 7: Northwest Stadium ~ Landover, Maryland
  • July 10 – July 14: Mercedes-Benz Stadium ~ Atlanta, Georgia
  • July 25 – 26: Allegiant Stadium ~ Las Vegas, Nevada

As things current stand, there are plenty of tickets remaining for the majority of those dates. Fans who purchased presale tickets to Night 1 of The Cowboy Carter Tour in Los Angeles paid as much as $800 to secure their spot in SoFi Stadium months ago. That proved to be a big mistake. They way overpaid!

Ticket prices dipped to as low as $57 to get in the door just hours before the show began. And there were an abundance of tickets to choose from. At least 3,000 seats were empty when Beyonce kicked off the tour with a performance of ‘Ameriican Requiem.’ Or were they? It depends on who you ask.

Parkwood Entertainment, which was founded by Beyonce herself in 2009, called it a sellout.

The Beyhive, Beyonce’s fanbase, is ruthless. Their queen can do no wrong. They will suffocate you on the internet. If you were to ask the Beyhive about the poor attendance, they would point you to the following videos:

However, there are other videos from the same show that provide visual evidence of the lack of butts in seats.

These images show the same:

I am not here to argue in favor of a sellout or against it. I am simply observing what I can see. And I find it hard not to see the empty seats in certain sections. I find it hard to argue with the amount of unsold tickets just minutes before the show got underway. (Beyhive please don’t attack me!!)

Take a look at Ticketmaster for Beyonce’s show at SoFi next weekend:

You cannot look at that image and tell me that Beyonce is crushing it. That amount of unsold tickets might actually reflect more than 50% of the stadium.

To be fair, the Cowboy Carter Tour is mostly sold out in Houston, Paris and a few other locations. To play five nights in a single location like Los Angeles could be part of the problem. Maybe people don’t like her new album as much as her older hits. I do not know the exact root cause for the drop but Beyonce tickets aren’t selling like they used to!
