Bert Kreischer, 51 years old, is an American comedian best known for performing without his shirt on and for that viral clip of Tom Segura laughing at him for drinking a mug full of Kool-Aid.

On Labor Day, Bert Kreischer visited his local Rite Aid pharmacy and was left so aghast by the store’s empty shelves that he took to social media to complain about the situation while also romanticizing the days when he’d “spend the afternoon looking around” the store.

“What’s going on Rite Aid???” Kreischer captioned the 38-second-long ill-informed rant video.

“This is Los Angeles. Everything is gone… this place looks like it’s been looted. And I guess thieves just come in and take whatever’s expensive and just f—— walk out with it?” Kreischer says in the video“This is crazy. This is unrecognizable. When I moved to Los Angeles, you’d come in Rite Aid and you’d spend the f—— afternoon looking around. This is so f—— sad.”

It didn’t take long for Kreischer to get thoroughly clowned on, as literally anyone who either A) keeps up with current events or B) can operate Google will know that Rite Aid is $2 billion in debt and recently filed for bankruptcy after they were sued into oblivion for facilitating America’s ongoing opioid crisis.

According to local California news outlet 17 News, Rite Aid told them in an email that low-stocked items are related to the company’s ongoing Chapter 11 bankruptcy process.

“We are diligently working with our supplier partners to restock our shelves during our Chapter 11 process, during which we continue to successfully meet major milestones on our way to becoming a stronger, financially healthy company,” Rite Aid said in a statement earlier this summer. “We appreciate our customers’ patience while we restock our shelves and encourage them to talk with our store associates, who would be happy to recommend alternative products if something is temporarily unavailable.”

According to Reuters, Rite Aid recently closed all of its stores in Michigan and all but four in Ohio. Prior to filing for Chapter 11, Rite Aid was named as the defendant in over 1,500 opioid-crisis-related lawsuits, resulting in $750 million in losses and $24 billion in revenue for the past fiscal year. The company then declared bankruptcy in October 2023.

And because we mentioned it and it’s a hilarious clip, here’s that video of Segura making fun of Kreischer for drinking a gallon of Kool-Aid a day.
