In a new episode of Season 5 of Netflix’s hit series Selling Sunset, luxury real estate agent Emma Hernan revealed Ben Affleck had slid into her DMs on the dating app Raya prior to reuniting with now-fiancée Jennifer Lopez last year.
“He [Affleck] may or may not have been texting me,” Hernan told co-star Chrishell Stause. “He may or may not have asked to grab…coffee a few times. I didn’t go.”
“You could’ve foiled Bennifer,” Stause joked. “He was on the hunt.”
“Right? It was right before that,” Hernan replied. “So, maybe that wouldn’t have happened. We have the Boston connection. So, that was his opening pick-up line.”
A few days after the episode aired, a rep for Affleck reached out to People to deny the accusations, saying, “Raya has confirmed that he has not been an active member for several years.”
However, per TMZ, a source close to Hernan claims Affleck is in “denial,” as they pointed out that the actor’s rep did not say he never hit her up, rather that he merely had not been on Raya for several years.
The gossip arrives just weeks after Affleck and Lopez announced their engagement. Shortly after sharing the news, Lopez revealed how Ben proposed to her in the latest edition of her “On the JLo” newsletter.
“Did you ever imagine your biggest dream could come true?” she wrote. “Saturday night while at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed. I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again, I was quite literally speechless and he said, ‘Is that a yes?’ I said YES of course that’s a YES.”
