Becca Tobin is an actress, best known for her roles on Glee and Turner & Hooch. Tobin is also a host on the podcast The LadyGang, alongside Keltie Knight and Jac Vanek. The trio briefly had a show on the E! Network and released a book. Tobin met up with actress Odette Annable, and trainer Erin O’Leary Stewart, for a fitness class for Annable’s birthday. Stewart captioned the post, “Get a group of women moving together in a room, magic happens. 🪄✨ Friends of @becca and @odetteannable got a little taste of our training sessions yesterday and it was one inspiring moment. Happy birthday Odie! Cheers to a healthy and fab year ahead 🥂 💪🏻 Let’s keep the momentum going.”Â
Tobin shared some of her favorite workouts with SELF. She says that she enjoys doing yoga. “If I could only do one workout, I’d do yoga, because it’s amazing for the body and the mind.” The Mayo Clinic states that yoga can improve someone’s range of motion. “Yoga incorporates all four motions of the spine: flexion, extension, rotation and side-bending. Therefore, yoga can prevent stiffness and disuse that also can occur with age. Being able to control the available range of motion in joints is crucial to good posture and decreasing the risk of injury.”
Tobin tells SELF that she enjoys hiking. “Sunday mornings at 11 AM, you’ll find me Hiking. I spend tons of time outside on the weekends.” ACEFitness states that hiking is a great leg workout. “Hiking helps increase the strength in the leg muscles, builds stability in the core muscles and enhances balance skills. The more technical the terrain is, along with an increase in climbing intensity, the more balance and core strength is required because more muscles are being recruited to manage the steeper terrain. As you climb, the larger muscles in your legs are activated (such as the quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings and calves), and on the descent, your glutes and quadriceps are working hard to prevent you from falling forward on the decline. Uneven terrain means many of the smaller stabilizer muscles are being worked, which increases stability and balance overall.”
Tobin shared her skincare secrets with New Beauty. She says that she likes to use masks. “I normally scoff at crazy-priced things, but La Mer has a four-pack hydrating mask that is the most incredible hydrating mask for wintertime. I do it anytime I’m working, anytime I know that I’m going to be on camera and wearing loads of makeup the next day, and they honestly are a game-changer. Then, I take it off my face and I use whatever is left and I put it all-over my body. I’m a crazy person. I don’t know what is in that lotion, but it’s incredible. I also love Shani Darden…she has really great products.”
Tobin tells New Beauty that she likes to do skincare treatment. “I’m obsessed with skin care and I’m obsessed with treatments. I think I’ve tried everything under the sun as far as lasers, microneedling, and all of that goes. I tell everyone who will listen that microneedling, on a consistent basis, is the thing that really makes my skin the best. There’s something about it. There’s a treatment called Vivace that is microneedling with radiofrequency added to it. It gives my face a little extra ‘plump,’ and I’m a big fan of that.”
As you can see from the post, Tobin likes to do fitness classes. ACEFitness states that doing classes helps people stay consistent with workouts. “The fact that group fitness classes occur on a set day and time works wonders with creating structure around physical activity, even for people who struggle with workout consistency. As opposed to hoping you’ll make it to the gym at some point during the day, choosing a class to attend and signing up in advance creates a greater sense of accountability and enables you to plan your day around your workout (and your health!).“
