Beyond the Gates (BTG) continues its massive publicity tour on the road to the new soap’s premiere, which is coming this Monday, February 24 at 2 p.m. ET.
CBS recently hosted a splashy advance screening event of BTG’s very first episode and presented a Q&A panel event with some of the cast.
Of course, the network invited a handful of top stars from its current soap lineup to help celebrate the ground-breaking new show, and also welcome BTG into the daytime drama fold.
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) was represented well by Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson), Courtney Hope (Sally Spectra), Christel Khalil (Lily Winters), Bryton James (Devon Hamilton-Winters), and Sean Dominic (Nate Hastings) in attendance.
Plus, The Bold and the Beautiful’s (B&B), Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter Walton), and John McCook (Eric Forrester) were there, as well.
Meanwhile, BTG stars who attended included Clifton Davis (Vernon Dupree), Jon Lindstrom (Joey Armstrong), and Karly Mosley (Dani Dupree).
There were some nice moments caught on film, especially one of B&B alum Mosley posing with her former co-stars McCook and Saint-Victor; not to mention a beautiful photo op with all the CBS daytime stars who were there.
Still, some of the funnier clips, which were spotlighted on BTG’s Instagram Stories, were when BTG’s sister soap stars were asked to describe Beyond the Gates in just one word!
Y&R’s Melissa Claire Egan, Courtney Hope, and Sean Dominic were up first in a video, and each gave a different answer as the camera panned slowly along each star’s face.
Egan noted that BTG was, “spicy”, while Hope stated the show could be summed up with the word, “seduction”, and Dominic replied with “corruption” as he broke down laughing.
Their colleagues, Bryton James and Christel Khalil were up next with a clip, and they were able to keep their daytime drama faces intact, as James noted, in a serious tone that BTG’s one-word description was “scandals” as Khalil said, “money”.
The B&B’s Saint-Victor got in on the fun, and his answer was, “power”! It looks like all the CBS soap stars had a blast, as they celebrate the newest addition to the network!
