Bandcamp and MusiCares Team Up for LA Wildfire Fundraiser

Bandcamp has joined forces with MusiCares to aid the ongoing relief efforts in the wake of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. On Friday, February 7th, 100% of proceeds from the streaming platform will be directed to the non-profit wing of the Recording Academy. Read about the upcoming relief project here.

“This special day is a chance for artists and fans to come together, turning music into a powerful force for rebuilding lives,” reads the Bandcamp announcement. “Whether you’re discovering new tracks, buying exclusive merch, or sharing personal stories, every action amplifies the collective impact.”

The fundraising project also includes a limited-edition tee. Designed by Shepard Fairey, the shirt’s design was inspired by themes of resilience and strength that the artist has been witnessing through Los Angeles’ rebuilding. Shop the shirt and other items that will be supporting the fundraiser here.

This is the latest high-profile effort to support MusiCares, following the fundraiser format of The Grammys, which reportedly brought in over $24 million throughout the weekend of this year’s awards show.

Artists and public figures are also continuing to find ways to send love and financial support to LA. Earlier this week, the compilation series Good Music announced a massive, 90-track LA wildfires benefit album featuring contributions from R.E.M., Death Cab for Cutie + The Postal Service, TV on the Radio, and more. Big Thief are also set to release a five-track EP for which the majority of proceeds will be directed to the Plus1LA Fires Fund. Additionally, Fender is working to help replace instruments for musicians who lost their homes and property in the blazes.

Bandcamp is also set to continue the ongoing Bandcamp Friday fundraiser, in which the site periodically waives its cut of profits on the first Friday of select months. 2025’s Eligible Fridays are March 7th, May 2nd, August 1st, September 5th, October 3rd, and December 5th.
