Badflower Share Contemplative New Single ‘Detroit’

Badflower have shared their latest single, with the wistful ‘Detroit’ out now.

The new track is named after the city it was created in, after the band wrote it backstage before their 2022 show at The Fillmore.

Featuring live audio captured from the audience in attendance that night, the track is said to be an ode to fans and sees the band looking back on their success over the years.

Out now via Big Machine Rock, it also arrives with a self-directed music video featuring plenty of archival band footage.

Have a watch of the video and listen below.

Discussing the new track and its contemplative message, frontman Josh Katz has said:

“I think anyone who has achieved something that they always thought they wanted has felt the disappointment in finally reaching that goal. It’s like, ‘I have it, now what do I do?’

“And then you realize how fun it was chasing the thing you wanted – it was the journey that meant everything.

“Fans are so involved in those feelings. That’s the thing I was chasing for so long, to be loved by a lot of people.

“And for those people to be involved in this song – it’s just another layer of ‘Badflower’ being honest with you.”

Badflower will be heading out on their headlining ‘No Place Like Home Tour’ throughout September and October, with support from Slothrust, Missio, and Divide The Fall.
