phew!

What’s Roberts’ secret to working out on a regular basis? Doing things she enjoys. “I don’t really enjoy the gym,” she said to New Idea. “I like to go running along the beach and I like to dance too – that makes me really happy. And yoga. I think our bodies are so intelligent and can tell us so much about how we’re feeling. I want to try and make exercise choices that make me happy on the inside.”

Roberts told New Idea that she loves yoga. Harvard Health states that yoga can help with self-esteem. “Yoga develops inner awareness. It focuses your attention on your body’s abilities at the present moment. It helps develop breath and strength of mind and body. It’s not about physical appearance. Yoga studios typically don’t have mirrors. This is so people can focus their awareness inward rather than how a pose — or the people around them — looks. Surveys have found that those who practiced yoga were more aware of their bodies than people who didn’t practice yoga. They were also more satisfied with and less critical of their bodies. For these reasons, yoga has become an integral part in the treatment of eating disorders and programs that promote positive body image and self-esteem.”

Roberts also told New Idea that she likes to dance to stay fit. According to Better Health, dance has a lot of benefits. “Dancing can be a way to stay fit for people of all ages, shapes and sizes. It has a wide range of physical and mental benefits including: improved condition of your heart and lungs, increased muscular strength, endurance and motor fitness, increased aerobic fitness, improved muscle tone and strength, weight management.”
