Asmongold claims he takes hate because other streamers can’t deal with it

Streaming star Asmongold has said that he has purposefully tried to take the heat off other streamers as they can’t handle some of the hate that comes their way.

Over the last few years, streaming and content creation has become a legitimate career path for many games and influencers. However, being front-facing with the public for hours on end every day can have its drawbacks.

While there are plenty of supporters out there, there are plenty of critics too – especially when you say or do something that they don’t agree with.

The hate and criticism can be enough for some creators to go into their shells and lose part of their appeal, or they disappear off the internet for good without too much warning, opting for a simpler life.

Asmongold is happy to take the hate

When it comes to Asmongold, the Twitch star has regularly come under fire for his views – be it on games or politically. As such, he’s developed a bit of a thick skin when it comes to criticism.

That, according to him, is why he’s shielded some streamers – especially those inside OTK – from hate.

“People are not meant to deal with like the amount of pressure and stress that like streaming and the level of criticism that you get. They’re just not, they’re not able to deal with that,” he said. “So, that’s why anytime there’s any drama or anything like, I usually try to take ownership of it so I can get it away from other people.”

The Twitch streamer pointed to an example where Mizkif was criticized for wanting to visit Saudi Arabia.

“I did that so everybody would get mad and hate me and not him and Emi too. And s, like yeah, I know it won’t bother me,” he added. “It won’t affect me, I don’t give a f*ck. None of my audience cares. The only people who care about it are losers. So, really, it’s better for me.”

Asmon has since left OTK, noting he hasn’t been involved for some time.
