Ashley enjoys playing basketball. “If you find an open gym with a basketball court and don’t recreate this moment from Double Teamed, what are you even doing with your life?” she captioned a post.  “Basketball promotes speed, agility, strength, power and endurance. It [has] also been shown to increase flexibility and motor coordination. As a result, basketball is uniquely oriented to improve fundamental motor skills that are shown to be beneficial in promoting general health,” Koco Eaton, M.D., orthopedic surgeon, founder of Eaton Orthopaedics and a former basketball player, tells Nike

Ashley loves hiking, recently sharing a flashback photo from a great one in Bali. “An #earthday throwback to the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen in real life,” she captioned a post. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:

  • Building stronger muscles and bones
  • Improving your sense of balance
  • Improving your heart health
  • Decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems

Ashley loves strength and weight training. While she took her first trimester off, she was back in the gym shortly after. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:

  • Manage your weight
  • Enhance your quality of life
  • Manage chronic conditions
  • Sharpen your thinking skills

On another “great day in Bali,” Ashley went jet skiing.”We were on a jetski for 3 hours,” she wrote, adding that she experienced “choppy water” and got “sea sick.” According to Health Fitness Revolution, the average 150-pound rider will burn a surprising 238 calories during a half-hour ride. The sport is also great for cardiovascular endurance.

Ashley has a great workout buddy in her husband. “POV: You work out with your husband 8x per week,” she wrote on an Instagram video. “The couple that works out together… is exhausted together,” she added in the caption.
