ARIANA Grande got her big break on Nickelodeon show Victorious when she was just 14.
But she has now called for major change across the showbiz industry, insisting it should be safer for youngsters.
It comes after shocking documentary Quiet On Set aired in the US, where a string of abuse claims were made by young people who had worked on Nickelodeon shows.
Ariana, who called the allegations “devastating”, said: “The environment needs to be made safer and there should be therapists.
“Parents should be allowed to be wherever they want, not only on kids’ sets.
“If anyone wants to do this or music, or anything at this level of exposure, there should be therapy twice or thrice a week.”
She continued on the Podcrushed podcast: “A lot of people don’t have the support that they need to get through being a performer at that level at such a young age.”
Queen Camila
After announcing the tracklist for her fourth album, Camila Cabello will be hoping the record goes platinum just like her hair.
The American ex-Fifth Harmony singer wore this silver mini-dress while out in New York after revealing details for her latest collection of tunes, C,XOXO.
It will feature 14 tracks, including two collaborations with Drake, Hot Uptown and Uuugly.
Her recent singles I Luv It, with Playboi Carti, and He Knows with Lil Nas X, will also be on the album. It is slated to be released on June 28.
Camila will perform at Glastonbury for the first time the day after it comes out, so that will be an ideal way to let her hair down.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed she brings Drake along for the performance.
Hack of a week for Jade
Jade Thirlwall’s solo career is already causing her a headache before it’s even started.
Samples from a track called I Confess have been leaked online by hackers.
It is believed to have been written for the Little Mix singer’s solo project and her team have been rapidly trying to delete the leaked snippets from the web this week.
In the track, Jade sings: “I confess, I want to taste your candy, have you underneath my body.
“I want to make you want me, we ain’t gotta tell nobody.
“I’m on my knees, I’ll lead you into my bed.
“This is my confession, baby.”
Last week a sample of her debut solo single, believed to be called Angel Of My Dreams, was also shared, but her record label RCA sprang into action to wipe all traces from social media.
Thankfully the track is expected to come out next month, so the wait is almost over for Little Mix fans.
Nina Nesbitt will support Stevie Nicks at her BST Hyde Park show in London on July 12. The Scottish singer-songwriter, who is gearing up to release her album Mountain Music in September, has been added to the line-up alongside Baby Queen, Anna Calvi and Brandi Carlile.
Tove and SG turn up heat
Tove Lo and SG Lewis have teamed up to release their Heat EP today but don’t watch the accompanying video if you’ve got kids around.
It has been slapped with an 18+ rating on YouTube because it shows Tove and SG at an X-rated party.
At the opposite end of the scale, in Ireland, a group of 25 nine to 12-year-olds from Cork who call themselves Kabin Studio have released their song The Spark after it went viral on TikTok.
It has sound-tracked more than 22,000 videos on the app, and even Tove has hailed it as “the song of the summer”.
Other new releases today include Benjamin Ingrosso’s Look Who’s Laughing Now, Bree Runway’s first single as an independent artist, Just Like That, and previously unheard Oasis track Columbia (Sawmills Outtake), from the 30th anniversary edition of the band’s 1994 album Definitely Maybe.
British singer-songwriter Laurel has dropped her second album, Palpitations, while Florrie has released debut collection The Lost Ones.
Coffee is Owen brand
Could It Brew Magic?
Well, we’ll soon see, because Take That’s Mark Owen is launching his own coffee.
The singer has named his blend after the group’s 2007 song Shine.
It is being launched with social enterprise Change Please, which is dedicated to combating homelessness through cuppas.
Mark said: “When the opportunity came around for me to celebrate my love of coffee in this way I just had to say yes.
“Collaborating with Change Please has been a joy and I can’t wait for everyone to try our new Shine coffee.”
Make mine a latte.
