Doesn’t everyone love a good post-apocalyptic movie that takes place in a confined space? Apple TV+ certainly hopes they do. In the first trailer for Silo, the streamer introduces an upcoming take on living through the apocalypse. We don’t know if we’d prefer the close quarters of Silo to the infected sprawl of The Last of Us, but this first look at the former certainly has caught our interest.
A release for the Silo series shares more about the story we see in the trailer. It notes:
In a ruined and toxic future, thousands live in a giant silo deep underground. After its sheriff breaks a cardinal rule and residents die mysteriously, engineer Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson) starts to uncover shocking secrets and the truth about the silo.
Instead of moving through train cars like Snowpiercer, we’ll be climbing levels in a silo to determine the truth. But it does seem shocking that no one seems to know why everyone is in the silo or how they got there. And what’s with the mysterious apple burials in the Apple TV+ show?
We guess we’ll have to stay tuned to find out. The show stars Rebecca Ferguson, Common, David Oyelowo, Tim Robbins, and more.
Silo premieres May 5 on Apple TV+.
