Bill Belichick is already in midseason form shutting down reporters.
For the past few weeks, Belichick has shared offensive playcalling duties with Joe Judge and Matt Patricia after longtime offensive coordinator Josh McDaniel left the Patriots to become the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.
Various reports say the Patriots’ offense “looks broken” with no defacto offensive coordinator.
As Matt Patricia has called the vast majority of Patriots offensive plays in training camp — with Joe Judge and Bill Belichick occasionally working in — the continued expectation is for Patricia to be the play caller/de facto OC once the season starts, according to a source.

After the Patriots’ first preseason game on Thursday, one reporter asked Belichick what he needed to see to make a decision on the offensive coordinator job. Belichick shut down the reporter and kept repeating that ‘we’re going through a process.”
