Ana de Armas Is Fire in the Final Trailer for BALLERINA

Youtube Video

The most recent trailer for Ballerina starring Ana de Armas required a little extra….patience. That’s our nice way of saying it was an interminable experience. Before we could watch it, we had to wait for a flamethrower to sloooowly melt a giant block of ice. Fortunately Lionsgate didn’t delay the debut of the film’s final trailer, which is also its best. This last look also explains why the film is embracing a fire and ice motif. Ballerina‘s vengeful star wants us to know that when we think of her we should think of fire.

Real good Ballerina trailer. REAL GOOD.

In addition to new stars, this promo also features many familiar faces. That included the franchise’s most important, Keanu Reeves, who will make his presence felt in From the World of John Wick: Ballerina. (Yes, that’s the official titles. And yes that’s the last time we’re using it in this post.)

But this last look belongs entirely to de Armas’s titular assassin, who is on a mission of revenge. Who is she and what set her on a path with potentially dire consequences? The film’s official synopsis provides context for the setting of this story and how Baby Yaga is involved. From Lionsgate:

Taking place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, the film follows Eve Macarro, who is beginning her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma.

Directed by Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard) with a script from Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapter 3 and Chapter 4), Ballerina also stars Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, Ian McShane, and the late Lance Reddick.

Will this movie light up screens with a fiery performance? We didn’t need a flamethrower and a giant block of ice to think so. We just needed to see the Ballerina at work. And we’ll truly get to do that, without any more delays, on June 6, 2025.
