Popular streamer Amouranth has explained how she managed to have her Twitch account un-shadowbanned, after the CEO admitted it was due to an algorithm targeting “mature content.”
Amouranth is a successful businesswoman, investor and streamer, but a lot of her infamy online also grew from more adult-oriented content, pioneering things like ‘hot tub streams’ and ASMR content with a suggestive edge.
Before her move from Twitch, where she made her name, to streaming rival Kick, Amouranth complained about being “shadow banned” – where although she wasn’t actually banned, her content would never be recommended, and her stream wouldn’t show up in searches.
Speaking on Dexerto’s Clickbaited show, Amouranth revealed how she got this confirmed direct from Twitch’s CEO, Dan Clancy, and that he removed the shadow ban once aware.
She actually heaped praise on the current Twitch leader, complimenting the improved communication, and that when she reached out, he was very responsive.
“They’ve really like mellowed out a lot, like the new CEO Dan,” she said. “He’s very personable, very chill with creators. And he wants our input a lot too.”

“I’ve gotten my account un-shadow banned just by talking to him. He was like, ‘oh yeah, it’s the algorithm doing that. There’s a feature that locks your account,’ under – I guess it was mature content – and it was locked for a year.
“I was telling him, like, ‘Hey, I don’t just do streams that are, like, showing a butt camera thing, like a lot of other girls were doing, I’m actually doing IRL stuff. I stream with animals. And he was like, ‘oh, you’re right, I’m going to take that off your account.’”
Despite this, Amouranth still rarely streams on Twitch, with only 3 broadcasts on the platform in 2025 so far, opting to stream on Kick more often instead.
After the attempted robbery incident at her home, the streamer went live on Twitch and said that more streams would be coming soon, but that she was taking a short break first
