American Idol has crowned its’ newest American Idol!
Colin Stough, Iam Tongi, and Megan Danielle were the final three singers in the competition, with each performing a handful of new songs on the stage ahead of the big announcement.
During the season finale, the rest of the season’s top 12 – including Haven Madison, Marybeth Byrd, Lucy Love, Oliver Steele, Tyson Venegas, Warren Peay, Wé Ani, Zachariah Smith, and Nutsa – returned for performances.
Former Idol contestants Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard, as well as James Blunt, Jelly Roll, Keith Urban, Lainey Wilson, Ellie Goulding, Pitbull, and TLC were also there.

Iam Tongi was declared the winner of season 21!
The singer performed four songs in total for the night, starting with Keith Urban‘s “Making Memories of Us”, and “Cool Down” from Kolohe Kai.
Next, Iam teamed up with James Blunt for “Monsters”, and then finished with his final song, “I’ll Be Seeing You.”
