American Cinematheque’s Tribute To The Crafts Awards Event Postponed

Due to the ongoing tragedy of the fires raging across Los Angeles, American Cinematheque has postponed its scheduled Tribute to the Crafts awards show which was to take place Thursday night at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.

The fourth annual ceremony honoring the best in crafts for movies each year was set recognize the craftspeople behind Challengers, Dune Part II, Emilia Pérez, Nickel Boys, Saturday Night, Fall Guy, The Substance, Wicked and Will & Harper, and bestow a career achievement award to Maria cinematographer Ed Lachman.

The event will be rescheduled for a later date.

Several awards-season events and shoots have been canceled or postponed in the wake of the fires, which fueled by fierce winds began breaking out Tuesday starting in the Pacific Palisades, where more than 1,000 structures have been destroyed and thousands displaced including in Malibu and parts of Santa Monica as it raged unchecked overnight.

There are also wildfires in Altadena near Pasadena, in Sylmar north of Los Angeles, and in the Sepulveda Basin in the San Fernando Valley. Overall, two people have died, multiple people have been injured and more than 320,000 people are without power.

Other events being postponed included red carpets for the movies The Last Showgirl, Unstoppable, Wolf Man and Better Man and TV series The Pitt, this morning’s live event to unveil the SAG Awards nominations, production on shows from The Price Is Right to Fallout, events like the BAFTA Tea Party and theme parks including Universal Studios Hollywood and Magic Mountain.
