This Saturday, April 20th, the 11th edition of the Platino Awards Xcaret 2024 will be held. The event celebrates the best of Latin American television and film and will take place in the picturesque Riviera Maya at the Gran Tlachco Theater in Xcaret Park. Numerous international celebrities will gather in this gem of the Mexican Caribbean to attend the awards ceremony hosted by Esmeralda Pimentel and Majida Issa. Before the show, celebrities will make their glamorous appearances on the red carpet.
Among the most nominated films are “The Society of Snow” with seven nominations, followed by “Close Your Eyes” with six, “Puan” with five, and “The Delinquents” and “20,000 Species of Bees” with four mentions each. As for television series, “Iosi, the Repentant Spy” and “Palermo Division” each have four nominations, while “Love After Love” has three, as do “The Thousand Days of Allende” and “30 Coins”. Regarding notable distinctions, Argentine actress Cecilia Roth will be recognized with the Platinum HONOR Award for her illustrious and successful career.

To watch the awards ceremony, there are several options. The awards will be broadcast on television in Latin America through TNT and streamed internationally through Max, a platform accessible via subscription. In Spain, the event can be viewed on RTVE Play and on La 2.

The awards will take place on Saturday, April 20th, and the schedules are as follows:

Who will perform at the ceremony?
Representing Spain, performers Ana Guerra, Ana Mena, and David Bisbal will take the stage. From Colombia, the musical group Monsieur Periné and Diana Hoyos will be present, along with Majida Issa, who will serve both as a presenter and performer. Argentine singer Gerónimo Rauch is also set to perform, while Venezuelan talent Mariaca Semprún will represent her country. And last, as the host country, Mexico has invited Ángela Aguilar to perform.
As part of the surprises of the event, a special performance of an original song has been announced. Colombian singer Diana Hoyos and Argentine artist Gerónimo Rauch will perform a composition by Luc Vidal. Traditional Mexican music will also play a significant role in the ceremony. Ana Guerra, Majida Issa, Mariaca Semprún, and Ana Mena are preparing a tribute to Rocío Dúrcal, famously known as ‘The Most Mexican Spaniard,’ who would have celebrated her 80th birthday in 2024.
