Alexis Ren in Bathing Suit Hits the Cover of "Ocean Drive" — Celebwell

Alexis Ren is one of the most successful current models and now she’s off to conquer new lands in Hollywood. “I realized acting is connected a lot with regulating your nervous system, being present, having a connection with God in that way. It’s a very spiritual experience because you have to get out of your own way in order to let whatever’s supposed to happen happen,” she told Ocean Drive magazine, the cover of which she shared on Instagram. In the photos, she posed in a pale blue one piece with white stripes. She captioned the post, “Honored to be on the cover of Ocean Drive.” How does she stay so fit? Ren wants to be an inspiration for young girls. One way she does so is by being open about her skincare routine. “I’ve made it a purpose of mine to break the taboo [when it comes to treatments],” she tells Glamour. “It’s weird when celebrities say, ‘Oh, yeah, I just used this cream.’ It’s like, ‘No, you don’t.’ I want to help girls understand that.”

Ren decided to learn more about skincare products. She tells Glamour that Sonya Dakar has taught her about them. “She’s helped me understand the types of substances that work on my skin,” Ren says. “She came on and taught a skin course to my community, and she broke down why we need vitamins, why we need hyaluronic acid. Then you don’t have to rely on one brand. You can be like, ‘I’m just looking for these exact ingredients.’ It puts the power back in your hands.”

Ren tells Glamour that she keeps her skincare consistent and simple. “It’s not about doing intense products or harsh things. It’s really just about consistency and making sure that when I wash my face, it’s 100%. If I have to, I’ll wash my face twice. That’s what I think really took my skin to the next level: when I realized how hard it is to get everything off. It’s more of training your skin or body to be on a certain regimen.”

Ren tells Women’s Health that she eats a plant based diet. She says that this helps her eat healthy and still enjoy her food. “I’ve been dabbling in plant-based diet for the last four years,” she explains. “I realized that there’s such an abundance, you don’t have to sacrifice taste or quality of food when you’re vegan.”

Ren breaks down some of her favorite foods to Women’s Health. She says that she loves different salads. “I’ll do kale salad,” she says. “I’ll chop up the kale I picked in small pieces with my hands and add onions and then garbanzo beans because they’re a really good protein.”
