Adele had a case of the first-show jitters upon returning to a live audience.
The singer held her British Summer Time shows last month. The two-date show marked Adele’s first ticketed shows in more than five years.
She was supposed to start her Las Vegas residency in January and it was set to run through April, but she canceled it at the very last minute.
Adele Was Nervous To Perform At Her British Summer Time Shows
“Weekends With Adele” would’ve been her first-ever Las Vegas residency.
Following the canceled residency and backlash, Adele was reportedly very nervous to take the stage again.
Singer Mahalia had the opportunity to perform at Adele’s British Summer Time shows and told Metro UK, “She was definitely nervous, she made that quite clear on stage.”
The 24-year-old singer added, “I’m sure she was nervous, and also scared – there were so many people!”
While Mahalia was not able to meet the British singer, she said the experience of being at a live Adele show was electrifying.
“Even though [I] didn’t actually get to give her a hug or shake her hand or say hi, I felt very close to her just for the fact that I was there,” she explained. “When I finally got out to watch, I was absolutely shocked. I wouldn’t even know what to do if I was looking at that many people.”
Adele Reschedules Her Las Vegas Residency
Adele has since rescheduled her Las Vegas residency.
Last month, The Blast reported the sad song crooner is set to make her debut in Sin City.
The new tour dates for her Weekends with Adele Las Vegas residency have finally been announced.
Adele ecstatically announced on July 25 the news.
“Words can’t explain how ecstatic I am to finally be able to announce these rescheduled shows. I truly was heartbroken to have to cancel them. But after what feels like an eternity of figuring out logistics for the show that I really want to deliver, and knowing it can happen, I’m more excited than ever,” she wrote on Instagram. “Now I know for some of you it was a horrible decision on my part, and I will always be sorry for that, but I promise you it was the right one. To be with you in such an intimate space every week has been what I’ve most been looking forward to and I’m going to give you the absolute best of me.”
“Weekend With Adele” Will Kick Off In November
Her “Weekends With Adele” residency will begin on November 18, 2022, just in time for the holiday season, and run through March 25, 2023.
The “Hello” singer wants to make sure as many fans see her as possible. Not only did she reschedule all 24 of her previously postponed shows, but she also added eight new dates to her calendar to give all of her fans an opportunity to see her perform live.
Ticket purchase priority will be given to those who had purchased tickets for her original residency earlier this year but had those tickets refunded. Those ticket sales are scheduled to go on sale in around two weeks on August 10.
