Don’t expect a follow-up to 30 from Adele anytime soon. In a recent interview with German broadcaster ZDF, the artist confirmed she doesn’t have “any plans” for new music and shared her desire to work on other pursuits.
“I don’t have any plans for new music, at all,” Adele said. “I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”
These comments echo the sentiments of Adele’s interview with The Hollywood Reporter published in December 2023. When asked if she “had time to record new music,” Adele responded, “I get nervous about wearing my voice out [at the residency]. It’s a lot of singing… I have nothing to say yet. I haven’t even thought about it.”
In January, Adele went a step further while speaking to the crowd at her “Weekends With Adele” residency in Las Vegas. “I just don’t think I’m gonna write an album for quite some time,” she said. “But next time I do, I’ll come to wherever it is you live.”
Adele still has some touring obligations before she can take a break. The singer will perform a string of shows in Munich, Germany next month ahead of the remainder of her “Weekends With Adele” residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in October and November. Get tickets here.
