Adam ‘Adam22’ Grandmaison, founder of No Jumper, has revealed the company is beginning layoffs, as the podcast’s revenues have plummeted, and they face legal action.

In a statement on April 2, Adam22 admitted No Jumper is experiencing severe financial difficulties, and that layoffs and downsizing were to come.

The company has reportedly been losing approximately $2 million per month, resulting in around 15 staff being laid off in a short period. Additionally, No Jumper has decided to close its Melrose store and relocate to a smaller space to reduce expenses.

Adam22 attributed the financial downturn to multiple factors, including a significant decline in viewership and revenue streams across platforms like YouTube, Snapchat, and Facebook.

He said that during global lockdowns, their YouTube viewers “doubled or even tripled”, compared to current figures. Additionally, revenue from Snapchat and Facebook, which had previously reached “at least six figures a month,” has drastically decreased.

No Jumper lawsuit and Instagram deleted

Despite this decline in viewership, Adam22 actually says the company was still profitable up until a couple of months ago, when two “major Ls” hit – the deletion of their Instagram account and a lawsuit.

No Jumper’s Instagram account was unexpectedly taken down after ten years, eliminating a significant source of sponsored post revenue. Adam22 stated, “We still have absolutely no idea why. We have had no luck getting it back despite being in contact with what seems like every Instagram recovery guy on the face of the planet.”

Legal issues have put further strain on the company’s finances, too. A former employee, identified as HarmoniousYuriy, has filed a lawsuit alleging workplace misconduct.

Adam22 described the lawsuit as a “bullsh*t lawsuit by a former employee” and an “extortion attempt,” claiming it has cost the company hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The claim alleges that Adam22 and two other “higher-ups” were not held accountable for workplace harassment and discrimination that took place at No Jumper towards HarmoniousYuriy and Rylee Garcia.

The lawsuit also alleges wrongful termination.
