When it comes to acting, James McAvoy can do it all: quite literally, in fact, as he famously played 23 separate personalities in M. Night Shyamalan’s 2016 film Split.
While McAvoy made a name for himself as a fresh-faced Scot in films such as Wimbledon, Atonement, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Last King of Scotland, his latter years have seen him take on more menacing roles in films such as Split, Glass, The Book of Clarence, and his latest hit project, Speak No Evil.
Speak No Evil plays a particularly relevant role in McAvoy’s career as ch of the film’s marketing was built around his performance as Paddy, a rural doctor and apparent family man who lures a London couple out to his remote West Country farm.
Speaking to BroBible’s Post Credit Podcast following the film’s release on digital and on-demand on October 1, McAvoy broke down the role that evokes Jack Nicholson’s iconic slipping-into-insanity performance in The Shining, the merit of remaking films, the ultimate message of Speak No Evil, how the ending was changed for American audiences, and more.

In addition to McAvoy, Speak No Evil also stars the routinely underrated duo of Mackenzie Davis and Scoot McNairy. Aisling Franciosi, Alix West Lefler, and Dan Hough also feature in the film, which is now available to buy or rent at home.
