A$AP Rocky’s new album, Don’t Be Dumb, may have been delayed, but arriving today in its place is its latest single, “Tailor Swif.”
First premiered live at Rolling Loud Portugal in 2022, “Tailor Swif” is the latest single released from Don’t Be Dumb (which is now due itself some time in fall 2024). Built around a grooving, head-bopping beat, the single’s primary feature is its Taylor Swift-referencing hook, “I’m too swift, don’t tell Taylor ’bout this shit.”
“Tailor Swif” arrives alongside a surreal music video directed by Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia, which depicts A$AP traversing a bizarre setting in Ukraine, decorated with a cascading array of strange sights, like porta-potties falling out of the sky, a man with toes for legs, dogs in business suits on the cell phone, and more.
Earlier this month, A$AP released another Don’t Be Dumb track, “Highjack,” which was the album’s first single to arrive since 2023. In a new interview with Billboard — in which it was revealed that Don’t Be Dumb’s release date had been pushed back — A$AP explained that some of the new music has been in the works for years, but has been delayed at least in part by leaks.
“At this point I’ve been working on music for six years, but they leak my music and I get over it and say, ‘F–k it,’ ” he said. “They leak a lot of the music and it ruins it. Like my ‘Tailor Swif’ video. I was pissed off about it, so I never released it.”
Ahead of the official release of “Tailor Swif,” A$AP posted a teaser of the video on Twitter with the caption. “SINCE U DUMMIES LEAKED IT ALREADY.” Now, you can watch it in all of its trippy glory below.
