While recalls are common enough, it’s always a little more worrisome when they pertain to an appliance in your home—especially when it’s something as expensive as a stove. Unfortunately, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) just confirmed that Wolf Appliance is voluntarily recalling about 44,000 of its Wolf Dual Fuel ranges with infrared griddles.

Per the Nov. 7 CPSC notice, the recall was issued due to a problem with the infrared griddle.
“The range can short-circuit if liquids boil over or are spilled and turn on the griddle unexpectedly, posing a burn and fire hazard,” the recall notice reads. So far, there have been 36 reports of the griddles turning on, but no injuries have been reported to date.

The recall applies to six different products and 27 model numbers (all listed in the CPSC notice). Affected ranges include: the 36” Dual Fuel Range—4 Burners and Infrared Griddle; the 48” Dual Fuel Range—4 Burners and Infrared Griddle; the 48” Dual Fuel Range—4 Burners, Infrared Charbroiler and Infrared Griddle; the 48” Dual Fuel Range—6 Burners and Infrared Griddle; the 60” Dual Fuel Range—6 Burners and Infrared Griddle; and the 60” Dual Fuel Range—6 Burners, Infrared Charbroiler and Infrared Griddle.
The ranges were sold at home appliance stores nationwide from Aug. 2020 through Sept. 2024, retailing for between $12,500 and $23,000. Approximately 1,400 ranges were also sold in Canada.

The ranges are stainless steel with an oven door panel in white, black, or stainless steel and have the serial and model numbers printed on the rating plate underneath the top of the oven, the CPSC says. Serial numbers range from 18517201 to 18868311.
If you have one of these recalled ranges at home, the CPSC asks that you “immediately stop” using it and contact Wolf Appliances for a free in-home repair. You can contact the company at 800-200-7820 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Central Time (CT) Monday through Friday or by emailing [email protected].
Before reaching out, Wolf Appliance notes that you should have the model and serial numbers on hand.
The ovens weren’t the only home products recently recalled either. Yesterday’s batch of recall announcements also included about 512,500 GoveeLife and Govee Smart Electric space heaters, which can overheat and pose fire and burn hazards. As of Nov. 7, there had been 113 reports of overheating, seven of which resulted in fires and one that resulted in a “minor injury.” If you have one of these heaters at home, the CPSC asks that you stop using them immediately and contact the brands for a refund.
