When you adapt a book or other media for the big screen, it’s inevitable that stuff is going to end up on the cutting room floor. Like, have you seen how long books are? Double-digit hours, some of them. No one’s going to sit that long for a movie unless they’re a sub for Scorsese, so adaptors have to walk a fine line between trimming the fat and preserving the flavor of a story.
