ONCE a household name following a brush with fame, this 00s reality star has shunned it all for a ‘very remote’ life in the wilderness.
The star has turned her back on showbiz and headed into the depths of Montana with just her husband, Matthew Rhode, for company.
The celebrity in question is Adrianne Curry, who won the first series of America’s Next Top Model.
As soon as her name had been announced by ANTM host Tyra Banks, Adrianne was able to enjoy a successful career in the public eye.
She modelled for numerous magazine covers and brands, including Playboy and Von Dutch, and starred in the VH1 reality show The Surreal Life.
But Adrianne has now kissed goodbye to fame and fortune and opted for the quiet life instead.
NEW LIFE
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, the 42-year-old has shared a glorious photo of her forest and mountainous view in the land-locked, north west state.
She revealed: “The last 7 years, I have lived VERY remote.
“I can go months without hanging w/anyone other than my husband.
“My life is lived in the thundering, glorious silence of the wilderness.
“I get easily overwhelmed in large groups/cities now. It can take days to decompress from the experience.
“The upside, I am more tuned into the earth than I ever have been in my life. My awareness of the forest and what is in it around me is quite sharp…..”
Adrianne has also shared dozens of photographs of her new life on Instagram, including pictures taken in the cabin house she shares with her husband.
On Christmas Day, the happy couple posed for snaps in front of their giant Christmas tree.
Adrianne said: “I got all I want for Christmas….for the last 9 years.”
Other pictures show her sledging in thick snow and posing with Matthew in front of Montana’s ice-capped mountains.
However, in a recent video, Adrianne has admitted she has no regrets about taking part in ANTM but says it “didn’t work out” as she had hoped.
The video comes several months after the former model claims she was “betrayed” and “lied to” on the show.
Adrianne told People in July this year: “They told us every day whoever was going to win was going to be a big Revlon model, and then they dubbed over voiceovers when it aired on TV because they never intended that.
“They lied to us because none of us would’ve fought as hard as we did for some half-ass prize. We’d be like, that’s stupid.”
Speaking from her car in her recent video, Adrianne said: “There’s a lot of Top Model things coming out and I was asked to do quite a few. I said no to all of them.
“I’m grateful I did Top Model. Yeah, things didn’t work out quite the way I was promised and stuff but life isn’t fair and you move on and you grow up and you grow out.
“It’s been over 20 years and I’m not sitting here crying and licking my wounds over things that happened back then.”
LESSONS LEARNED
Adrianne added: “I’m good and my life is beautiful and I learned invaluable lessons through that and learned to not trust anyone in Hollywood, which is exactly what I needed to do!
“So I’m not mad about it. I’m just not. And I know there’s a lot of other people who are mad about it and I’m just like, ‘Let it go, move on. It’s okay, you’ll be okay’.
“Your life is going to be full of people sticking it in and breaking it off. That is what life is and it’s what you do afterwards that matters.”
Adrianne concluded: “I am who I am today because of it and I’m where I am, in lovely Montana, because of it.”
The first series of America’s Next Top Model premiered in 2003.
Adrianne joined the cast of The Surreal Life for the fourth series two years later and went on to marry her house guest Christopher Knight.
The pair went on to star in their own spin-off called My Fair Brady and married in 2006. They divorced seven years later.
Adrianne got engaged to movie trailer-voice actor Matthew Rhode in 2017 and they eloped in Glacier National Park in Montana the following year.
The couple tied the knot in a Game Of Thrones themed wedding.
