Continuing a staggering run of productivity that’s seen him release one full-length project every single year since 2018, the black cat himself, Sneakbo, is back with his brand new mixtape Made In Brixton.
It’s a mammoth release, too, packing 21 tracks into its one-hour runtime. Despite that, he’s kept the features down to a relatively small, tight-knit group of trusted creative allies. Old friend and collaborator J Boy jumps on a couple of tracks, as does Lagos-hailing Afrobeats riser Martinsfeelz. For the rest of the features, he calls on 150 rhymer Stickz, fellow South Londoner and child prodigy Natalie Okri, and hiplife singer Fred Kobby.
What’s also got fans talking is the inclusion of a track called “Wave Like Bo”, a new track that takes the landmark instrumental from his classic 2010 “Wave Like Us” freestyle and runs with it. Although Political Peak doesn’t return for this iteration, it’s still a more than welcome opportunity to hear a solid-gold instrumental fitted with box-fresh lyrics.
An energetic and varied snapshot of where Sneakbo’s at right now, the project mixes Afrobeats, hi-life, road rap and more, and he has the expansive cast of producers to thank for that. Among the list of producers credited on the tracklist are Lex, Foreign Kash, Degreen, DegoBrown, Dale, Deepscialist, ATG, 5tarr and Truthz.
