Gorillaz to Play First Three Albums at Special 25th Anniversary Celebration

Gorillaz have announced four special concerts taking place in London this summer, during which they’ll play their first three albums in full.

The shows coincide with closing week of band’s recently-announced House of Kong 25th anniversary exhibition, which runs at the Copper Box Arena in London from August 8th to September 3rd, 2025. The first date, taking place on August 29th, will feature Gorillaz performing their 2001 self-titled debut in full. The following night, August 30th, Damon Albarn and co. will recreate their Demon Days live show in its entirety. On September 2nd, they’ll perform Plastic Beach in full, before closing the run with a “Mystery Show” on September 3rd.

In addition to performing each album in its entirety, Gorillaz will reprise the original live show formats and visuals that accompanied these albums, making each performance a unique experience that encapsulates its corresponding era — with the final night remaining a mystery. As for House of Kong, the exhibit celebrates Gorillaz’s distinctive visual universe, virtual bandmates, and the stories and artwork behind their eight studio albums.

Tickets for Gorillaz’s career-spanning quartet of performances will first be available for House of Kong ticket-holders. Exhibition tickets are currently on sale, and fans must purchase an exhibition ticket by 11:00 p.m. BST on Tuesday, May 27th to access an exclusive House of Kong ticket holder pre-sale.

As of now, these four events serve as Gorillaz’s only tour dates announced for 2025. The performances arrive as frontman Damon Albarn shifts his focus back to Gorillaz after reuniting with Blur in 2023 and crafting an opera, The Magic Flute II: La Malédictionwhich opened in Paris this spring. Albarn has also teased a new Gorillaz album, telling the French publication Les Inrockuptibles that he’s been hard at work on the new record.
