Who is Hannah Barron?
Hannah Barron is a nature influencer from Alabama who often showcases her fishing and hunting skills via social media.
Hannah studied business at Troy University before changing her major to broadcast journalism once her social media accounts began gaining attention.
Hannah rose to popularity after people claimed her accent was fake and often criticized her for her hobbies.
On March 8, 2024, Sameera Khan, a foreign policy analyst, took to X, formerly Twitter, to share her thoughts on Hannah’s accent.
“This accent needs to be illegal and women should be banned from doing manual labour like this,” Khan wrote.
“There is NOTHING feminine about American women. American women are literally men.”
Hannah responded back in an Instagram video to her 2 million followers saying: “m. “These folks talking about me thinking they’re going to offend me, that ship sailed a long time ago.
“I’ve been getting picked on my whole life. I grew up around men. Well, so, don’t be scared to build your own box and don’t try to fit in anybody else’s.
“Be your own person and you’ll be happier in the long run because of that.”
Why is she called ‘Catfish Girl’?
While the term catfish has a different meaning on social media and dating apps, Hannah brings a whole new definition to the word.
The Alabama native is called ‘Catfish Girl’ due to her content of catching catfish with her bare hands also called noodling.
This form of fishing sees noodlers catch the fish by the mouth with their hand eliminating the usage of hooks.
In an interview with Realtree, Hannah said she began noodling when she was 16 years old.
She began filming this hobby when she was in college. It was shared via Facebook and blew up with over 25 million views on her first video.
Hannah has since continued to share her unique fishing skills on YouTube acquiring over 754,000 subscribers.

Is Hannah Barron single?
Hannah Barron is dating a man named Paul James.
The two celebrated their two-year anniversary on January 23, 2024. Paul shared pictures on Instagram of the two hunting deer with the caption: “Happy 2 years babe! I love you @hannahbarron96.”
According to his Instagram, Paul works as a firefighter for the United States Air Force.
Paul joined the Air Force in 2016. In 2021, he shared via the social media app that he re-enlisted for an additional five years.
Like Hannah, Paul has also built up a following on Instagram with over 10,200 followers where he showcases his hunting skills and life as a firefighter.
