PARAMOUNT+ executives have removed another hit TV show from its roster after multiple seasons of it airing.
Evil gained a significant level of popularity during its run on Paramount+ for the last few years.
Although many fans adore the streaming platform’s program, it won’t be returning for a fifth season, Deadline reported Thursday.
When Evil’s upcoming season, which will be number four, premieres in May, it will be the last one.
Paramount+ announced today that four bonus episodes had been ordered to conclude the storyline, and they will be produced in New York City soon.
“Robert and Michelle King created a unique and deeply entertaining way of exploring the intersection of religion and science,” Paramount+ Executive Vice President of Programming Jeff Grossman told Deadline.
He continued: “We thank Robert, Michelle and the immensely talented cast and crew of Evil and are incredibly proud of their collective work on the series.
“We can’t wait to see what’s in store for these characters, in what is sure to be a nail-biting, wild ride of a final season.”
Evil fans overwhelmed X, fka Twitter, with remarks about how enraged they were to learn that the show was being canceled.
“Evil deserves more seasons. I’m not ready to part with this series,” a fan tweeted.

A second person declared: “Now #Evil is ending. Well, I guess I’m canceling Paramount Plus after this year.”
ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST
Paramount+ has been axing a few shows over the last few months.
Just months after releasing their respective Season 1 finales, Paramount+ decided not to renew Fatal Attraction or Rabbit Hole for second seasons, Variety reported in October.
A spokesperson for the service said in a statement: “Fatal Attraction and ‘Rabbit Hole will not be returning for second seasons on Paramount+.
“We want to thank both series’ entire creative teams, crews and the fantastic casts for their dedication to bringing these series to life.
“Both Fatal Attraction and Rabbit Hole will continue to be available on Paramount+ for audiences to discover.”
The former, which premiered in April and concluded in May, starred Lizzy Caplan and Joshua Jackson.
The latter, which featured Designated Survivor star Kiefer, began in March and ended in May.
The cancellation of two of its newer shows comes just a few months after Paramount+ axed a slew of its other programs.
In June, The Game, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, Queen of the Universe, and Star Trek: Prodigy were all canceled.
CUT!
The Star Trek series had previously been renewed for a second season, and all of its new episodes were almost completely finished being made at the time of its cancellation.
Executive producer Aaron J. Waltke later revealed on Twitter: “All I can do is [reiterate that] we are completing Season 2 on schedule and seeking a new home!”
A few weeks ago, the animated series was able to find a new home with Netflix.
The streamer announced earlier this month that it had saved Star Strek: Prodigy, with the previously-released Season 1 arriving later this year.
Fans will then get to see the new, Season 2 episodes on Netflix in 2024, though an exact release date has not yet been revealed.
Executive producer Alex Kurtzman and co-showrunners Dan and Kevin Hageman said in a statement: “Thank you to our incredible Star Trek: Prodigy fans, who championed not just a show, but a community that’s always been connected by the belief that we build a better future together.
“We set out to inspire you, but you inspired us.
“The team is still hard at work on the second season, and we can’t wait to share it with the amazing fans around the world.”
