It’s New Music Friday, so Consequence is here to help point out the best, most notable new albums to stream.

Among today’s highlights is Linkin Park’s first album since the passing of Chester Bennington, Jon Batiste’s bluesy twist on classical music, and Jin of BTS’ first full-length solo album. Plus, new music from 070 Shake, Maxo Kream, Poppy, and St. Vincent.

070 Shake has linked up with producers Dave Hamelin (Beyoncé, King Princess), Tyler Johnson (Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus) and Patrick Krief (The Dears) for a brand new album, Petrichor. Named after a term used to describe the smell of rain after a dry period, the project once again shows off the artist’s genre-blending tendencies.

ATEEZ — GOLDEN HOUR: Part. 2

The K-pop stars have upped the ante with their latest release, the darker follow-up to their summer release, GOLDEN HOUR: PART.1. The second installment is the latest proof of the fact that while ATEEZ have a high output when it comes to the frequency of their releases, these eight members absolutely know their lane — and they’re going to shine there. We’re still not sure how they made time for this after crushing the summer leg of their ongoing world tour, but we’re glad they did.

Now, he’s unveiled an album version of the mixtape, featuring a reconfigured tracklist and five additional songs.

Jin — Happy

The clue really is in the name — BTS’s eldest meant it when he said he wanted to make the fans smile. Jin’s new album, his very first solo effort, is a warm welcome home following his military service. The album sees the vocalist in a pop-rock lane, exuding his unstoppable charisma through nostalgic and endlessly welcoming songs.
