KFC launches “Kentucky Fried Comeback” with free chicken and new menu item

KFC is officially entering its comeback era. After losing ground in the chicken wars, the fast food giant is calling on fans to give it another shot — and it’s offering free buckets of chicken to prove it’s serious.

Starting today, customers who spend more than $15 can claim a “Free Bucket On Us” offer through its website or app. The brand says it’s a chance for fans to taste the difference and help shape the next chapter of KFC’s legacy.

You can get either an eight-piece chicken tender or an eight-piece chicken bucket.

With 75 years of fried chicken history, KFC is returning to its roots with a renewed focus on what made it iconic: hot, crispy, freshly prepared Original Recipe chicken made with the Colonel’s legendary 11 herbs and spices.

The company says recent operational changes have improved flavor and satisfaction scores, and it’s now aiming to win back fans one bite at a time.

KFC launches fried pickles

KFC has also added fried pickles to the menu. The golden-fried dill slices come with ranch or the brand’s brand-new Comeback sauce and are available for just two dollars for a single serving. If you want enough to feed a small army, then KFC offers a family-size option.

In stores and on social media, KFC’s tone has shifted, too, with a more serious Colonel and messaging focused on reclaiming its spot at the top.

This comes just a month after the fried chicken chain released its own take on the “dirty soda” trend, a peaches and cream version of Mountain Dew Sweet Lightning.
