Jimin of BTS Announces Sophomore Solo Album MUSE

The members of BTS are refusing to let their time completing their military enlistment slow them down as a team. Jimin is now the latest to announce the release of music recorded prior to his departure with his sophomore album, MUSE, due out July 19th.

While the full tracklist has yet to be revealed, a statement about the record reads, “MUSE documents his journey to find the source of his inspiration. It will showcase his expanded musical spectrum across seven tracks.” It’s set to include “Closer Than This,” a heartfelt track dedicated to the fans that Jimin unveiled in December 2023. See the teaser artwork below.

The album lands as the follow-up to Jimin’s 2023 effort, FACE. Upon release, FACE’s lead single “Like Crazy” prompted Jimin to become the first South Korean soloist to notch a No. 1 single debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Jimin follows in the footsteps of his bandmate RM, who recently rolled out his second solo LP, Right Place Wrong Person.

The news arrives just days after BTS FESTA, the annual celebration marking the band’s original debut date 11 years ago. This year, FESTA was extra celebratory, with eldest member Jin completing his military discharge one day before the band’s anniversary. His exit was accompanied by a reunion for all the members of BTS, who were able to gather to celebrate Jin’s re-entry into civilian life before returning to their respective roles. BTS dance leader j-hope is scheduled to complete his time in the military in less than four months.
