The bouncy track arrives as a follow-up to “Sweet Dreams,” his melodic release with Miguel. Here, “Mona Lisa” sits more in the hip-hop portion of j-hope’s discography, and the confident choreography on display in the music video plays to his many strengths as a dancer. The track was produced by Blake Slatkin, who worked with j-hope’s bandmates Jin, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook on 2022’s Snoop Dogg collaboration “Bad Decisions.”

“Mona Lisa” is the latest move in a particularly busy season for j-hope. After kicking off his first solo tour in Seoul, he touched down in the US for an appearance on Jimmy Fallon, then began the North American leg of “Hope on the Stage.” Following sold-out nights in Brooklyn and Chicago, the BTS dance leader is now headed to Mexico City.

The thrilling solo outing is a well-earned return to the stage for j-hope, who completed his military service in October of 2024. Read our review and recap of the US tour kickoff here, and grab tickets to remaining dates for “Hope on the Stage” here.
