DEVIL MAY CRY Trailer Pits Demon Hunter Dante Against White Rabbit’s Army, Brings Virgil Into the Mix

Are you ready to enter the gates of Hell? No, I don’t literally mean going there yourself. I think the reality we live in often skews close enough that nobody wants to be in a permanent Bad Place. I’m talking about diving into Netflix’s Devil May Cry, an animated adaptation of the beloved game of the same name. Even if you aren’t familiar with the game, this series involves demon hunting, portals, and loads of sinister happenings. Devil May Cry sounds like a vibe and looks like one in this action-packed trailer.

In it, we meet our protagonist Dante, who is apparently a top level threat that requires a lot of people power and weapons to fight. All of that isn’t enough because, well, he dispatches a round of soldiers with ease. This is a good thing considering there is an anthropomorphic talking bunny, aptly named White Rabbit, who wants the Age of the Demon to happen now.

His army is coming to the city to take over and Dante, a demon hunter, ain’t having that. Between the sleek animation from Studio Mir and the brilliant use of Papa Roach’s “Last Resort,” the Devil May Cry trailer is fantastic.

Here’s a synopsis to further bring things into focus:

In this animated adaptation of the popular Capcom game and from the vision of Adi Shankar, sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.
