Ronda Rousey delivered a knockout surprise at the San Diego Comic Con.
On Thursday, the former WWE star announced at the convention that she and her husband, Travis Browne, are expecting their second child together, according to People.
Rousey, 37, shared the big news while speaking with actor and panel host, Dave Bautista, about her first graphic novel, “Expecting the Unexpected,” which launched on Thursday via a Kickstarter campaign.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship alum tied the knot with fellow mixed martial artist Browne, 42, in August 2017 in his home state of Hawaii. The couple went on to welcome their first child together, daughter La’akea Makalapuaokalanip, in September 2021.
Rousey previously gushed about how La’akea takes after her in the area of grit.
“Oh, she’s definitely going to be tough,” Ronda told People of her little one in June 2023. “She doesn’t respond to pain so much. She just fell and scraped her knee today and she didn’t even cry. She just kind of grunts it out!”
She added, “The world isn’t ready for this little girl.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the wrestler opened up about how motherhood has altered her life for the better, namely her mental health.
“I’m just so much happier that I’m no longer ruminating over myself all day. I’m always thinking about her and focused on her and… I don’t know,” she explained.
“Am I more considerate? I think the best part about it is that it’s mentally made me more healthy and made me stop beating myself up so much because I’m so concerned with taking care of her,” Rousey added.
