Pregnant wife defends husband after he goes viral wheeling Xbox & TV into labor ward

A wife is defending her husband after he went viral for wheeling an Xbox into the labor ward at the hospital.

In May, a father-to-be stunned the internet after his pregnant wife, Maria, posted viral TikTok of him wheeling in boxes of supplies, including an Xbox, into the labor ward to be “super prepared.”

The video was viewed over 5.4M times and users were baffled by the video. “Congrats on raising two kids at the same time,” one mocked.

“Bringing an Xbox to the hospital when your kid is being born is craaaazyyyy,” another chimed in.

However, Maria wasn’t going to let the internet dogpile on her husband like that and in a follow-up video, explained the whole situation.

Wife reveals why husband brought Xbox into hospital after backlash

According to Maria, she and her husband, Christopher, were trying to avoid having their baby early and weren’t expecting a preemie, noting that they were expecting June 25 and weren’t prepared in April.

Maria explained that when they got home, her husband decided the next time they weren’t going to be in the hospital for days without supplies.

Inside the boxes he wheeled in were snacks, hygiene products, and other items to make the hospital stay easier, and it wasn’t just gaming supplies.

“It’s interesting that him being overly prepared bothers anyone,” she said. “Just because I said he brought a gaming system doesn’t mean he was using it to game. He actually hasn’t even used it at all. Except we watched a movie for a little bit last night.”

“I think it’s unfair to say he needs to treat me better while I’m in labor, but you guys are literally trash-talking him while I’m in labor.”

Furthermore, Maria said it wasn’t no one’s business if he plays video games, because her husband “works his ass off.”

Luckily, the couple hasn’t let the backlash get to them, and their baby son is finally able to head home.

This isn’t the first time that video games and hospitals have intertwined. In 2022, a surgeon sparked backlash after posting a video of himself in the middle of a procedure during a heated console wars debate on X.
