Pharrell Williams held his debut show as Louis Vuitton’s creative director for menswear last night, hosting Jay-Z on the mic and Clipse on the catwalk. The SS24 showcase on Paris’ Pont Neuf attracted associates including Beyoncé, Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, and Tyler, the Creator. Pusha T and Malice walked in branded outfits as a new song, reportedly set for release as a Clipse comeback track, played on the stream, as TMZ notes. Jay-Z performed after the catwalk show, with Pharrell Williams joining him on the mic for “Frontin’.” Check out photos of guests below.
Williams was announced as a surprise successor to the late Virgil Abloh in February, extending the brand’s symbolic association with pop and rap. Williams’ first ad campaign starred a pregnant Rihanna. He told The New York Times, “What I love about this is, it’s the biggest fashion house in the world, and that is a Black woman with child.”
