Doin’ her best.
After Kelsea Ballerini abruptly ended her concert and postponed several tour dates, many jumped to the assumption that she could be pregnant with her boyfriend Chase Stokes’ baby. However, the country star quickly nipped the rumor in the bud.
The “Miss Me More” singer, 31, took to TikTok to address the baby speculation.
In the video, Ballerini shared a comment from a fan reading, “Maybe pregnant?!” to which the noticeably ill star wearing eye patches responded, “Or, maybe its the flu.”
Wearing a black puffer jacket and a trucker hat with her blond locks tied back, the congested Grammy-nominated musician stepped away from the camera and added, “Cool,” seemingly disappointed at the fan’s assumption.
The “Cowboys Cry Too” singer shocked concertgoers when she pulled the plug on her show at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, NY, Feb. 6, revealing she was too sick to continue the performance.
After singing just five songs on her setlist, a crew member came out on the stage and broke the news to fans.
“This is a conversation I did not want to have tonight,” the crew member tasked with breaking the unfortunate information told the crowd. “She just can’t finish, she is too sick, and we’ve given everything, we’ve tried to do it, and we unfortunately cannot finish the show tonight.”
The staffer added, “I do not know much beyond that. We are going to look at options and you will be receiving emails. Beyond that, there is not much that I can say right now.”
Ballerini later addressed her illness on social media, saying she would have to postpone several shows.
“Buffalo, I am so so sorry that I could not finish the show tonight,” she said in a video on her Instagram Story. “I am sicker than I’m trying to be, and I did not want to let anyone down tonight, and I just got through the first few songs and I couldn’t do it. And I am so sorry, but I never want to give you a half-ass show.
“We are rescheduling tonight, Buffalo, tomorrow, Pittsburgh, and the next day, Toronto, to the end of the tour and I will make them the best shows I’ve ever played in my whole life, and I will pull out every stop for you, and I will make it so worth it.”
“I’m going to go rest now, and get better, so I can really show up for the rest of this tour, and I hope you understand, and thank you for the grace to be human and I love you,” she concluded.
Posting a carousel of photos on Instagram Tuesday, Ballerini showed fans what she’s been up to while recovering from her illness.
“Just what the doctor ordered,” she captioned the pictures, which included one of her eating chicken noodle soup and another with her dog in bed.
Ballerini and Stokes were linked in January 2023.
The singer and the “Outer Banks” actor, 32, celebrated their two-year anniversary Jan. 7, with Ballerini sharing snaps of the couple.
“Two years of catching each other in countless cities, perfecting a chimichurri steak, and creating a world that revolves around dogs. love you so, teammate,” she captioned the sweet shots.
Stokes also paid tribute to Ballerini on their anniversary via Instagram, writing, “2 laps around the sun with you, i love you kb 🤍(especially when you laugh so hard you wheeze, and 8 am dance routines to your toothbrush).”
