Olivia first became a mom at the end of 2021 when she and now-husband John Mulaney welcomed their first child after just a couple of months together.
Five months after the couple were first spotted together in June 2021, the pair welcomed their son Malcolm Hiệp.
It was in September of that year that Olivia’s pregnancy was revealed to the world.
John confirmed he was expecting his first child with girlfriend Olivia less than a year after he split from his wife Anna Marie Tendler.
Appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the host said to the comedian: “You’ve had a year”.
WHIRLWIND ROMANCE AND BABY NEWS
To which John replied: “I packed a lot into this… Is it September now? I went to rehab in September, I got out in October, I moved out of my home from my ex-wife…
“Then in the spring I went to Los Angeles and met and started to date a wonderful woman named Olivia.
“I got into this relationship that’s been really beautiful with someone incredible who has dealt with the non-coked up Bambi version of me, and that’s been very incredible, and she’s kind of held by hand through that hell.
“And we’re having a baby together. I was nervous when I was about to say the news!”
He later gushed: “I’m going to be a dad. We’re really, really happy.”
Baby Malcolm was then born mere weeks later.
Olivia and John then got married in July 2024, just a short while before welcoming their second child.
The pair said “I Do” in an intimate ceremony at a friend’s house in New York, with Sam Waterston marrying the pair and just baby Malcolm and one other witness in attendance.
Two months later, the couple welcomed their second child together, daughter Méi June.
OLIVIA’S CANCER BATTLE
Last year, Olivia revealed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and battling the disease in private.
The actress announced her diagnosis in an emotional social media post in March 2024.
She also shared how she had undergone four surgeries, including a double mastectomy for the aggressive cancer.
Olivia revealed that in February 2023, she and her sister took a genetic test that checks for 90 different cancer genes.
The actress was elated after they both tested negative for all the cancerous genes, including breast cancer, “We called each other and high-fived over the phone,” she explained at the time.
However, in April 2023, Munn was diagnosed with breast cancer.
A biopsy revealed that she had Luminal B cancer in both breasts.
Luminal B is an aggressive and fast-moving form of cancer, according to breastcancer.org.
“In the past ten months I have had four surgeries, so many days spent in bed I can’t even count and have learned more about cancer, cancer treatment and hormones than I ever could have imagined,” The Newsroom actress said.
“Surprisingly, I only cried twice. I guess I haven’t felt like there was time to cry.
“My focus narrowed and I tabled any emotions that I felt would interfere with my ability to stay clear-headed.”
Thirty days after her diagnosis, the stunning star underwent a double mastectomy.
She said how she went from “feeling completely fine one day, to waking up in a hospital bed after a 10-hour surgery the next.”
Praising John for his support, she added in her post last year: “I’m so thankful to John for the nights he spent researching what every operation and medication meant and what side effects and recovery I could expect.
“For being there before I went into each surgery and being there when I woke up, always placing framed photos of our little boy Malcolm so it would be the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes.”
Olivia showed her mastectomy scars in a photoshoot for a SKIMS campaign.
In the campaign she said: “I’m done being insecure.
“Each day brings with it its own problems, and my hope is that you’ll all be healthy enough to enjoy them.
“So protect your health and love your body like you are a chunky newborn baby.”
And in February, she revealed details about her cancer journey and battle at Time’s Women of the Year gala.
Olivia spoke about how she was happy that her daughter Méi, was healthy and that she was also feeling well.
“I realized that I had felt pretty good all day, too,” she said at the gala, but then made a revelation about her cancer journey.
“I have years to go in my cancer treatment, but on that Friday, my joints didn’t ache, and I wasn’t too hot or too cold from going into a surgical menopause, and my brain fog had cleared — at least for that day, anyway,” she said.
JOHN’S STRUGGLE WITH DRUGS
More than a decade ago in 2014, John revealed to the world that he had been sober since September 2005.
However, in December 2020, he voluntarily checked himself into rehab for alcoholism and cocaine addiction.
A source told Us Weekly at the time: “John has always been engaged in his sobriety. The relapse got ugly, but it was his choice to go to rehab, which saved his life.”
Two months after checking himself into rehab, in February 2021, John came out after receiving treatment.
Just mere months later in May of that same year, it was revealed that he had split from wife Anna Marie Tendler.
He quickly met Olivia after splitting from Anna, and has since praised her for helping him through his recovery.
“I got into this relationship, and it’s been really beautiful with someone incredible,” he previously gushed.
“And she’s kind of held my hand through that hell. It is a very, very lucky thing to have met this woman,” he said of Olivia.
